Review Technica was originally started as a personal technology blog by Cam Medlin in 2012. Cam is a physician (M.D.) and was in one of the most competitive and high tech specialities in medicine when he suddenly became extremely ill with a debilitating disease that wreaked havoc on his body. His once strong and athletic body quickly became weaker and as a result his world became increasingly constrained by his functional limitations. Prior to his illness Cam enjoyed technology and kept up with the latest in mobile phones, tablets, and computing, but he also enjoyed the outdoors and physical activities: surfing to mountain biking, lifting weights to running or playing basketball. After his illness began, helping others through the medical career he loved was no longer possible, so he decided to help people through technology as best he could. Occasionally writing on a laptop in bed is something he can do when almost everything else is no longer possible.
